triumphant death knell
Club: when I am losing faith in the universe, and poetry in general (for once again I have not been chosen, annointed, given the golden goose, or appointed grand master general of poetry incorporated) and myself as well, and my commitmentto writing in general(for example, I registered to attend a writing conference and then slept in too late to attend)something kinda fun happens that keeps me vaguely motivated. After Thursday, I hope to return to my prolific self, and put the writing pants back on. Until then, I have some short shorts (not pants!) coming out in an Emerson anthology, not that I have any pride in my college, who I believe stole from me something in the area of $50,000, my sanity, and my self-esteem. Which is why I never give them money.
Dear Beverly Writer,
We are pleased to inform you that your short shorts "We Change Our Names" and "Call Carmine" have been selected for inclusion in Brevity and Echo: Short Short Fiction by Emerson College Alumni. The response to our call for previously published pieces was tremendous, and we are thrilled with the high caliber of the short shorts we've selected and about the anthology as a whole. Thank you to the many of you who passed the call for stories on to other alums.
