the word, outside

Anybody up for some live poetry in a nice garden?
Sunken Garden Poetry Festival, next Thursday night @ 7:30 PM has their reading of the annual poetry contest winners. I think the second place dude is the one I like better, having read some of his work elsewhere. Here is a link to a poem, and his site. His name is Douglas Goetsch
It is outside in a nice garden, and live music starts at 6:30. I might like to make a trip of it, any other NHWC party in?

oh....the sunken garden....
yes, yes, i would like to attend. we can bring the polka dot blanket and the red picnic blanket and pretend it's ideat village without the ideacy. really, though, i would like to keep up this outdoors habit. we should often be on blankets outside. parks. beaches. all that.
[can i also give myself a little ego boost by trying to impress you? i was a finalist or semi-finalist or something for the sunken garden thing. now how do you like me?]

I can do you better (I am a fuckin' bitch, and you may stone me for this) I was a finalist in 1996 (which means I read at the festaval) and a semi-finalist in 1997 (in part because siri & I stayed up late or maybe drank? the night before the preliminary reading) And I have not been up there since then, but have wanted to go very much. With straw hat & polka dot blanket, and a spririt of fun & drunkeness.
